A new age teahouse in the city center of Athens. Also operating as a point of sale for Mlesna teas and accessories.
A random journey in Sri Lanka in the early ‘90s and his acquaintance with the Mlesna Company (of which he is the exclusive importer) was bound to connect forever the owner, Sakis Papatheodorou, and in extension his two sons, with the tea industry!
Is designed in reference to the Japanese table connected to the tea ceremony.
Designed with minimal style of clean lines from fir wood and square display cases with hidden lighting where vases with bulk beverages are displayed on. The result, which bears the signature of architect Giorgos Batzios, is so impressive that it has been awarded by the top architectural magazines.
In a tranquil environment, the connoisseurs of tea are able to enjoy more than 200 varieties.
If you are newcomers in the world of tea, make your first steps with a classic Earl Grey, a fruity Little Prince (decaffeinated) or a light White Angel with intense aromas. If you have already been initiated in the art of tea, dare to try an Oolong Mlesna, a truly quality tea with rich aromas or a mild aromatic Nuwara Eliya or, lastly, a smooth and mellow Dumbara, whose leaves are plucked early in the morning in the Dumbara Valley.
Those who seek intense taste emotions can find them in a Long Ching, one of the 10 most famous Chinese teas which is solely hand plucked and hand processed by experts! Another fascinating choice is the Silver Tip (the silver buds of the plant, carefully plucked offer a taste experience that changes according to the brew time) and the Keemum Hao Ya A, with a wonderful complex tastewith floral sweetness and a hint of rosy notes.
There is a daily card with dishes of the day prepared with fine quality ingredients offering options such as tarts, soups, homemade cakes.
Since November, the authentic afternoon tea has been established here, with tea of your choice accompanied by a three-level platter with tea sandwiches, fresh cookies, homemade cakes and sweets, scones with homemade jams! Daily 12:00-20:00 (€18/person, €30/2 persons).
Apart from premium quality tea and herbs (served hot or cold), you will also find fine coffee and hot chocolates, smoothies and healthies from fresh fruits and vegetables. There is also a fine selection of wines from Greek small producers and beers from Greek microbreweries.
