Estrella started out in Thessaloniki where it was a great success, people were waiting standing for one of its tables to empty. Soon its reputation spread over the city’s borders and it became a brand name. Estrella’s highly successful concept, as expected, moved to Athens a few months ago and introduced to the Athenian crowd, among other things, the famous “bougatsan”. In the heart of the city, in the pedestrianized Romvis street, on the ground floor of a neoclassic building, Estrella created its cozy space with a non-smoking policy, outdoors and indoors tables, open kitchen, and the innovative addition –compared to its “sibling” in Thessaloniki– of the cocktail bar, which serves cocktails, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, selected from an inspired signature list of suggestions. We like to go there from early in the morning for excellent Kudu coffee, healthy smoothies and juices and of course the delicious breakfast and brunch menu items, and naturally we choose it later in the day for lunch and dinner. We do not know what to try first from its new menu card, except, of course, from its trademark, the famous, delicious “bougatsan”… sweet and salty waffles (must taste the whole wheat one with smoked salmon), the different club sandwich made with koulouri of Thessaloniki (!), the excellent pancakes –top of the list the red velvet ones– the “alternative” banoffee pie, the healthy and delicious waffle with tahini and matcha (you can also have matcha in a beverage or in latte), whatever you choose it will convince you to come back again and again! The excellent “Ottoman” spicy burger made from minced beef and lamb and caramelized onions as well as the breakfast pizza which, instead of dough, it is made with a base of Thessaloniki koulouri.

Present for 2 years in central Vouliagmeni, it has become the favorite all-day spot! With the culinary experience of the known bakery Artopolis, Philip is its natural extension, both for its modern space as well as its delicious suggestions. There is no better way than to start our day with an aromatic coffee or a boosting beverage along with a robust breakfast seated at its tables outside, gazing over the bay of Vouliagmeni. Again, we return after some hours at the beach to recharge our batteries with a hearty brunch. At noon, we definitely make a stop here for lunch choosing from tempting options such as pizza and burgers, while in the evening we relax with a glass of wine at its carefully designed lounge. Breakfast, besides from the most important meal of the day, is also one of the services offered from a hotel and, even if not included in the price, it becomes a point of reference for the level of satisfaction of its guests and, in extension, for the rating it will receive. After all, even those who do not have a habit of taking breakfast every morning, when travelling for business or pleasure, tend to consider it a nice moment, a first “acquaintance” with the city they are visiting. B Group realized this need, in combination with the trend of airbnb, and decided to inaugurate a new concept since last February, upgrading the “ritual” of breakfasting into a whole new level… The Breakfast in Athens consists of 9 fulfilling menus based on different nutritional needs. Apart from the Basic, the English and the Greek breakfast style there is also a range of vegan, gluten free, highprotein breakfast and kids’ menu. Inspired from the Greek gastronomic tradition, the menus offer high quality options prepared with ingredients from small farms. The pies are homemade, the croissants are handmade, the bread is freshly bake, the cakes are fluffy, the cereal bars are prepared with pure ingredients, the eggs are organic, while the honey and jam comes from their own production.
